Who Is Detective Conan?
Case Closed, also known as Meitantei Conan (Detective Conan), is a Japanese detective manga series written and illustrated by Gosho Aoyama and is serialized in Weekly Shōnen Sunday since 1994. The name "Case Closed" for the English language release results from concerns of copyright conflict of the name Detective Conan.The story follows the adventures of Jimmy Kudo, a prodigious young detective who was inadvertently transformed into a child due to a poison.

Case Closed has been continuously serialized in the Japanese manga anthology Weekly Shōnen Sunday since 1994 and has been collected in sixty-five Tankōbon volumes as of August 2009. Since its publication, Case Closed has spawned a substantial media franchise. The manga has been adapted into an animated television series produced by Tokyo Movie Shinsha which is still ongoing in Japan as it adapts the story from the manga. The series has also spawned eleven original video animations, thirteen animated feature films, and many video games.

Viz Media licensed the manga series under the name for English-language publication in North America and released thirty volumes as of July 2009. Funimation Entertainment licensed the anime series for North American broadcast. Both the English adaption went under the name Case Closed. Fifty episodes of the English dubbed series aired on Cartoon Network as part of their Adult Swim programming block on May 24, 2004 until January 2005 and were discontinued due to low ratings. The anime adaptation has been well received, ranking in the top twenty in animage's polls between 1996 until 2001 where it dropped below the top twenty. In the Japanese TV anime ranking, Case Closed often ranked the top six.

Police officers are targeted and being killed by an unknown person. Thinking the suspect is related with the police force, they're keeping quiet about the situation. Though when officer Sato is critically injured by this killer, Ran is the only eye-witness. Suffering from traumatic shock, she loses her memory of everything in her life. As a result, the killer now knows that Ran has seen his/her face, s/he must get rid of the sole eye witness. Conan must find the murderer while protecting Ran... and his true identity. As part of a plan to restore Ran's memories, Kogoro and Sonoko take Ran to Tropical Land. Conan is not informed of this, however, and concerns himself with the investigation of the case. Professor Agasa and the Detective Boys (Ayumi, Genta, Mitsuhiko, and Ai) also go to Tropical Land. At Tropical Land, one of the suspects approaches Kogoro and Ran. The man is stopped, due to the combined efforts of the Detective Boys and taken in for questioning by Kogoro. As it turns out, the man was merely attempting to talk to Kogoro- the murderer is still at large. Meanwhile, Conan discovers who the real murderer is. Realizing that Ran is in danger, Conan rushes off to Tropical Land and searches for Ran. When he finally catches sight of Ran, Ran is already being targeted by the murderer. Conan contacts the Detective Boys via the badge communicator and Ran is saved by Agasa. Thoroughly frightened, Ran runs off, with both the murderer and Conan in pursuit. Conan eventually catches up to Ran and they run all over Tropical Land to escape from the murderer.

Kaito Kid returns in The Last Wizard of the Century. This time he plans to steal the Imperial Easter Egg currently in Osaka under the protection of the Metropolitan Police Department. He left a note detailing the exact time and place. Conan and Heiji team up to catch him in an effort to stop the Fabergé egg from being stolen. But an unknown assassin called 'Scorpion' shoots and apparently kills the elusive Kid. Meanwhile, the descendant of the creator hold rights to the egg. On the Suzuki Cruise Line Sagawa Ryu is murdered by one of the passengers. Thanks to Conan's thinking The egg is identified to have the location of a second egg which is Natsumi's grandfather Kichii who built it in memory of his wife whom was not allowed a proper burial. While there, the assassin known as 'Scorpion' strikes again killing Inui Shouichi. The castle quickly turns into an underground puzzle as a hidden doorway to the basement is found. Conan finds and realizes the puzzles secret is Light. As a second puzzle is figured out the group quickly finds the Second egg. Conan once again uses his reasoning skills to unlock the egg which shows the meaning of the name "Memories". The killer 'Scorpion' appears and attempts to kill Kogoro and Ran. Conan chases after him and finds out Seiran is the killer, and the descendant of Mad Monk Rasputin. At the ending credits Kid makes an appearance as Shinichi Kudo to help Conan keep his secret from Ran.
